GoodWe Brings Power to Remote Hospital After Cyclone Ditwah

Cyclone Ditwah left many parts of Sri Lanka struggling with destruction, flooding, and days without electricity. In remote areas that are already hard to reach, damaged and washed-out roads made providing basic healthcare even more difficult.

One such hospital, located in Meemure and accessible only by air, was left without a reliable power supply. 

As part of its cyclone relief initiative, GoodWe, in partnership with Mega Solar, donated an ES Uniq inverter and Lynx U-G3 battery system to ensure uninterrupted power for the hospital’s critical needs.

“When we arrived, the hospital—the only healthcare facility serving the Meemure community—had been without reliable electricity for 25 days. With no road access, delivering power was an enormous challenge. Through our partnership with GoodWe, and with the vital support of the Sri Lanka Air Force and Meemure Aranya Senasanaya, we were able to install a hybrid solar system that that now allows children to study online, supports over 100 daily patients and the 1,400 people who depend on this hospital. This project is more than restoring power—it’s restoring hope” said Sanjeewa Bandara, Mega Solar

The newly commissioned system has been reliably powering critical medical equipment, lighting, and essential services, allowing the hospital to continue serving its community during the post-cyclone recovery period.
