GoodWe energy storage system tops HTW Berlin ranking for the fifth time

For the fifth time, inverter and storage system manufacturer GoodWe has been awarded the highest efficiency class A in the rating of electricity storage systems by the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW). Intelligent control and high efficiency increase the self-consumption rate during operation and thus improve the cost-effectiveness of PV storage systems.

A total of 17 manufacturers with 22 electricity storage systems took part in the test. GoodWe was one of only two Chinese manufacturers in the highest efficiency class.

Results from independent testing institutes are compared in accordance with the efficiency guidelines for PV storage systems from the Solar Storage Research Group and classified using a simulation-based system evaluation. The evaluation is based on the operating behavior of the solar storage solution over the course of an entire year and results in the System Performance Index (SPI).

For this year's evaluation, GoodWe provided the ET G2, a next generation hybrid inverter, together with a Lynx-F series battery storage system. In this configuration, GoodWe was able to achieve a System Performance Index (SPI) of 94.9 percent, placing it securely in the highest efficiency class A and significantly above the average score of the systems tested.

Since the submission of the reviewed model, GoodWe has launched the improved Lynx D series battery storage system in Europe. Just like the tested unit, the Lynx D model has outstanding battery efficiency with minimal heat loss and a leading nominal charging and discharging capacity. The system, consisting of 5kWh self-recognizing battery modules, is highly flexible and can be expanded at any time to a maximum storage capacity of up to 40 kWh. Thanks to the integrated battery management system (BMS) in each battery module, the state of charge (SOC) no longer plays a role when installing and expanding the system.

Leading energy storage and sustainable development

GoodWe is also at the forefront when it comes to environmental and social responsibility. The company joined the UN Global Compact in 2021 and has committed itself to the principles of human rights, labor standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption. In its recently released 2024 Sustainability Report, GoodWe presented their advances in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) topics, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN Global Compact. The report includes progress in green production, operation and supply chain compliance as well as the recognition of ESG performance through multiple ratings and certifications, including:

 • B- score in the CDP Climate Change Questionnaire

 • Bronze Medal from EcoVadis, ranking in the top 35%

 • AA rating from China Securities Index

 • Positioned 25th in China’s Top 100 ESG Listed Energy Companies (of 1534 assessed in total)
